Crypto Trend Score

The whole crypto market's trend · daily close, 1 Nov 2026
Daily score−96

Trend score on each candle size, from −100 to +100The trend turns bullish when the score closes at +35 or above, and bearish at −35 or below; on 4-hour and daily candles it takes two such closes in a row. In between it stays as it was, so a Neutral score can sit inside a bull or a bear trend. The date is the candle the trend last turned on.

The score jumps when Bitcoin's or the altcoins' trend flips. Bitcoin's trend turned bearish on 29 Oct 2026, which took 82 points off the daily score at once.

How scores work

One scale, from −100 to +100

Above zero the market is trending up, below zero down. The further from zero, the more its three parts point the same way: Bitcoin, the altcoins and the share of large coins in an uptrend.

  • Mostly down−60 or less
  • Down−59 to −20
  • Mixed−19 to 19
  • Up20 to 59
  • Mostly up60 or more

Candle

One bar of price over a fixed time: 4 hours, a day, a week or a month. Only closed candles count.

Flip

The flip level is a price line that follows the trend. When a candle closes on the other side of it, the trend flips from bullish to bearish, or back. A flip on a light-blue background closed in the last 7 days.

Trend historyBlocks above the line are bullish stretches, blocks below it bearish. A taller block marks candles whose score was +60 or above in a bullish stretch, or −60 or below in a bearish one. On those candles more of the measures behind the score agreed. In our tests a taller block did not tell more about what followed than the side alone.

Outside cryptoGreen and red say which side of its trend line the price is on. The percentage next to a trend is how far the price has moved since the day the trend began, so a bullish trend can show a loss. Flips are dated by the candle's last day, a Sunday for weekly candles. These three are readings, not trends: the latest value, its date, and how far it has moved over four and 52 weeks.Gold is measured with PAXG on Binance; Bitcoin priced in gold divides Bitcoin's price by it. US stocks come from daily closes of the S&P 500 at FRED. The dollar, the 10-year yield and the Fed's net liquidity come from FRED, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. These records are short (gold from August 2020, stocks from October 2016), so the lists of past flips hold few flips.
